Wuhan Boiler Company Ltd., previously Wuhan Boiler Factory founded in 1954, was listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in 1998 with a registered capital of 297 million RMB. In July 2007, Alstom successfully acquired 51% share of WBC and became the controlling shareholder of the company. On November 2th, 2015, GE completed the acquisition of Alstom's power and power grid business, and became the controlling shareholder of the company. Following the implementation of GE's global exit strategy for coal power, GE transferred its 51% stake to Douben Automotive Parts Company Ltd. in January 2022. Under the management of Douben - the controlling shareholder of the company, WBC will continue to provide high-level services to traditional power customers while embarking on a new journey of transformation and upgrading.

The new plant of Wuhan Boiler Company Ltd. is located in Wuhan East Lake Development Zone. It has the modern workshop with single flow process layout based on concept of optimal production processes. The new factory has a construction area of 173,000 square meters, including a 6,000-square-meter R&D center, manufacturing workshops with modern process layout and international standards facilities, and is currently a large-scale advanced factory of power Generation Boiler and Pressure Vessel.

With advanced utility boiler R&D and manufacturing technology, Wuhan Boiler Company Ltd. will be able to actively respond to the increasing demand for boilers in domestic and international market, while solving environmental protection issues, especially reducing emissions and improving the efficiency of power plants.

WBC will continue to be in the boiler industry while exploring other business markets.

For the clear water and blue sky of Wuhan, Wuhan Boiler Company Ltd. and Wuhan Branch of Hubei Jinquan Wind Power Company Ltd. cooperated and installed an 8MW solar photovoltaic power station on one workshop and has successfully connected to the grid for power generation.
